"Carry" - Illustration Friday
Whew, actually remembered to do it this week. Here is my entry for the Illustration Friday theme "carry". It's a pretty simple idea, what with a dad getting mobbed by his kids and all, but for some reason I really liked how the inked image turned out. Traditional inks, digital colors. And of course, my trademark background avoidance (because nothing can encourage my current throbbing headache like trying to do a background). Enjoy!

I love this! Their expressions and body language are just perfect. And I'm so with you on the background thing. But I think the blocks look fine ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I decided that an understated background was probably best for this one (and it saved me a lot of time), so it's good to know that other people think so too. :) Thank you!
Deletehaha awwww... I like it!

DeleteI totally get the background headache... hehehe. Love your characters, great illustration!

ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteVery realistic regarding kids and their clinging, but I'm not always smiling when they do. I love the understated background. I mean that's what a background is. I avoided it in my quick illo's as well. Very nice illustration.
ReplyDeleteI remember my dad carrying me and my sister.Hehe. So nostalgic. Great illustration
